<p><span>As the wave of digitalization sweeps across industries， patents and technological achievements are increasingly valued， with PCT international patent applications becoming a key indicator of innovation. Recently， the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) released its PTC Yearly Review 2023， with China maintaining its top position in PCT applications， followed closely by the United States and Japan. Fourteen Chinese companies made it into the top 50， with Huawei leading by a significant margin with 6，494 PCT applications， while CATL surged ahead， jumping 84 places to break into the top eight.</span></p><p><span>China leads in PCT applications</span></p><p><span>Since joining the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) on January 1， 1994， China has remained the largest contributor to PCT patent applications globally. According to data from WIPO， in 2023， China submitted 69，610 PCT patent applications， accounting for over a quarter of the total， maintaining its position at the top for several consecutive years.</span></p><p><span>In the field of education， the University of California led with 531 PCT patent applications in 2023. China's Soochow University followed with 332 applications， followed by the University of Texas System (217)， Tsinghua University (209)， and Stanford University (180).</span></p><p><span>In terms of technology fields， computer technology had the largest share of PCT applications at 10.2%， followed by digital communication (9.4%)， electrical machinery (7.9%)， medical technology (6.7%)， and pharmaceuticals (4.7%).</span></p><p><span>Analysis revealed that among the top ten technology fields， only electrical machinery， transportation， semiconductors， and biotechnology saw growth in PCT patent applications in 2023. Conversely， the number of PCT patent applications in computer technology decreased by 3.4% in 2023， while digital communication saw a 2.1% decrease， marking the first decline since 2019.</span></p><p><img data-reference="image" src="https://img-s-msn-com.akamaized.net/tenant/amp/entityid/BB1ka3m2"></p><p><span>Expanding patent footprint globally</span></p><p><span>Patents serve as a technological "moat" for businesses. The report ranked companies based on their PCT international patent applications， with Huawei leading with 6，494 applications in 2023， far ahead of Samsung (3，924) and Qualcomm (3，410).</span></p><p><span>Another Chinese company in the top five is BOE Technology Group， with 1，988 PCT patent applications， the only semiconductor display company in the leading pack. BOE's patents cover various fields such as flexible OLED， sensors， artificial intelligence， and big data， across countries and regions including the United States， Europe， Japan， andSouth Korea.</span></p><p><span>Of note is CATL， which saw its PCT applications jump from 266 in 2022 to 1，799 in 2023，catapulting84 places to enter the global top eight. According to a report from SNE Research， CATL has surpassed LG Chem in overseas markets， leading Chinese battery manufacturers to rapidly expand their global market share， with their performance in overseas markets even outpacing that in the domestic market.</span></p><p><span>Other notable companies in the top 50 include OPPO， ZTE Corporation，湖北中悟企业管理有限公司 vivo， Xiaomi， Changxin Memory Technologies， Honor， Haier， Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology， Tencent， and ByteDance. Overall， both the number of applications and rankings of Chinese companies continue to rise.</span></p><p><span>Source: Yangcheng Evening News</span></p><p><span>中国仍是国际专利申请最大来源国</span></p><p>随着数字化浪潮的席卷，专利技术和成果愈发受到重视，PCT国际专利申请量更是成为衡量创新的重要指标。近日，世界知识产权组织（WIPO）公布了2023年全球PCT国际专利申请报告，中国PCT申请量蝉联第一，美国、日本紧跟其后。14家中国企业进入50强，华为以6494件PCT申请继续“遥遥领先”，宁德时代则迈出大步，提升84位跻身前八。</p><p><span>PCT申请量中国居首</span></p><p>自1994年1月1日起，中国加入《专利合作条约》（PCT），如今刚好迎来30周年。从世界知识产权组织公布的数据看，2023年，PCT国际专利申请总量为27.26万件，中国依然是全球最大的PCT专利申请国，共提交了69610件，所占比重超过四分之一，连续多年稳坐第一。</p><p><img data-reference="image" src="https://img-s-msn-com.akamaized.net/tenant/amp/entityid/BB1k9YP0"></p><p>在教育领域，美国的加利福尼亚大学是最大的申请人，2023年PCT专利申请量达531件。中国的苏州大学以332件的申请量居于第二，随后是美国的得克萨斯大学系统（217件）、中国的清华大学（209件）和美国的斯坦福大学（180件）。</p><p>按技术领域划分，已公布的PCT申请中，计算机技术占比最大，为10.2%，其次是数字通信（9.4%）、电气机械（7.9%）、医疗技术（6.7%）和制药（4.7%）。</p><p>记者梳理发现，在排名前十的技术领域中，只有电气机械、运输、半导体和生物技术四个领域在2023年实现了增长。与之相对，计算机技术领域的PCT专利申请量在2023年下降了3.4%。数字通信领域的PCT专利申请量也下降了2.1%，这是自2019年以来的首次下降。</p><p><span>专利布局“走出去”</span></p><p>专利是企业的技术“护城河”。报告从企业申请人的角度进行了排名，其中，华为PCT国际专利申请量高居榜首，在2023年申请了6494件，相比于跟随其后的三星（3924件）和高通（3410件），依然是“遥遥领先”。</p><p><img data-reference="image" src="https://img-s-msn-com.akamaized.net/tenant/amp/entityid/BB1ka0Xu"></p><p>榜单前五还有另一家中国企业——京东方，PCT专利申请量达到1988件，也是领头队伍中唯一的半导体显示企业。据悉，京东方的专利申请覆盖美国、欧洲、日本、韩国等国家和地区，遍及柔性OLED、传感、人工智能、大数据等多个领域。</p><p>另一个值得关注的是宁德时代，PCT申请量从2022年的266件，直接增长到2023年的1799件，名次也一下提升84位，进入全球前八名。来自SNE Research的报告提到，宁德时代已完成对LG新能源在海外市场的超越，以其为代表的中国电池制造商快速扩大全球市场份额，这些企业在海外市场的业绩增速甚至高于中国国内市场。</p><p>OPPO、中兴通讯、vivo、小米、长鑫存储、荣耀、海尔、深圳先进技术研究院、腾讯科技、字节跳动等也在50强的名单中。总体来看，中国企业的申请量和名次都在继续增长。</p><p>文、表｜记者 黄颖琳</p><p>图丨新华社</p><p>翻译｜刘佳慧</p>
